Sumo Digital has appointed former Hobbs and Planet X exec Ken Beaty as chairman.
The news comes following investment from private equity firm NorthEdge Capital to support a management buyout of the studio from owner Foundation 9 Entertainment.
“I am really looking forward to working with the business as it builds momentum in delivering its three key strategic objectives of improving and growing the core business, enhancing its market presence and investing in original IP creation,” said Beaty.
Sumo Digital, which employs some 240 staff recently released LittleBigPlanet 3 for PS4. Prior to that, the studio has worked on titles such as the Forza Horizon series and Sega All Star Racing.
