Sony has said that a port of 1992 SNES platformer Super Star Wars will be released for PS4 and Vita this week.
That’s in the US at least – we’ve still not yet had definitive word on whether it will arrive in Europe this week. A November 17th release in the US could very well point to a November 18th release in the UK.
Star Wars Battlefront, of course, hits the UK this Thursday (November 19th) and the US tomorrow (November 17th).
Anyway, about Super Star Wars. Sony says of the port: Enhanced for PS4 with new save features, leaderboards, Trophies, and updated display and controller options. Risk your life as a Jedi Knight! Join Luke, Han, and Chewbacca in their fierce war against the evil Empire.” It’s also a Cross Buy title.
Sony announced in August that four classic Star Wars ports previously announced as part of the Star Wars PS4 console bundle will also be sold separately – Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Star Wars: Jedi StarFighter and Star Wars: Racer Revenge.
There’s no word yet on whether the games will also be released on other platforms, as there has not yet been any hint of them being PlayStation exclusives.
