Swansea-based studio ChaosTrend is thriving despite the economic downturn, and has secured a deal that will see portal PlayFirst distribute its games.
ChaosTrend, which has utilised the help of Swansea Metropolitan University’s entrepreneurship fellow Kathryn Penaluna and Finance Wales, also has a new puzzle game EverFall in production, which uses the company’s own ChaosTrendEngine.
Swansea Met game design graduates and company founders Darren Adams and Russell Drodge have, along with their team, already completed several Flash projects and web-based promotional titles for Welsh television company Telesgop Media and the Carmarthenshire Heritage Trust.
Darren Adams said: “As a team we have clear goals as to where we want to be in a year’s time. The overall objective is to build up a portfolio of games that will become household favourites within the next 12 months, strengthening our reputation as a development company that can deliver quality products on time and which above all else are fun to play.
“Our long term vision is to become the most successful computer games development company in Wales, employing talent from many of the excellent local Universities.”
