Take-Two and the NBA to partner for NBA 2K pro league

Publisher Take-Two Interactive and the NBA have announced a new partnership that will see the two create an eSports league for the NBA 2K series.

According to ESPN the NBA 2K eLeague will start next year, with NBA teams fielding five player rosters for the season. The aim is for all 30 NBA teams to have a team, but at the start that number will probably be significantly less.

A five month competitive season will mirror the real NBA, with players training and competing full time during the season. The regular season will dictate the teams that make it to the playoffs and then a traditional knock out style tournament will determine the winner.

Exact details in terms of dates, investment and people involved are currently unknown, but with a at least eleven months to go before the league is due to start they have a lot of time to figure it all out.
