Nintendo has revealed the existence of a new Metroid game.
Metroid Other M is a joint collaboration between Japanese developer Team Ninja and Nintendo itself.
NOA President Reggie Fils Aime called the new project “a historic collaboration” and promised the title will be a Metroid game “unlike any other before”.
“It will take you deeper into Samus’ story and further into Metroid universe,” he added.
Details of the game are scarce. It is not known, and unlikely, that the game will remain a striaght FPS like the trio of Retro Studio titles released for the Wii and GameCube.
The game was given a tentative 2010 release date.
