Techland goads Destiny with #DrinkForDLC Dying Light campaign

Dying Light players have been told that they will receive some free DLC if they partake in a social media campaign poking a bit of fun at fellow title Destiny.

Some Bungie fans reacted negatively to news earlier this week that some future content for the game will for a limited time be locked behind a Red Bull promotion. There will also be in-game perks for those who purchase the energy drink.

Developer Techland reacted by saying it would provide the same for those who posted a picture of themselves drinking a glass of water. It has now stepped up the idea to the status of a fully-blown campaign using the hashtag #DrinkForDLC.

A 50 per cent XP boost will be offered to players if 5,000 people Tweet a picture of themselves with the hashtag. There will actually be free DLC if the number hits 10,000 and more for 20,000, 35,000 and 50,000.

Techland have decided to design, create and release a number of all new free DLC packs for Dying Light throughout the second half of the year,” the studio said. The campaign will be led by the fans reaching successive stretch goals.
