Telltale confirms Marvel partnership

The increasingly busy Telltale games has announced yet another product line – this time in conjunction with Marvel Entertainment.

We’ll be teaming up on the development of an upcoming Telltale game series project set to premiere in 2017,” the studio said in a brief message.

Which of course leaves us to speculate as to the nature of the project. The obvious conclusion is that Telltale will produce another of its narrative-led episodic adventure series as has been seen before with the likes of The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Tales From the Borderlands and, most recently, Game of Thrones.

It also has a Minecraft series on the way.

There has been talk of change at the studio, however. In February it revealed details of a new format it is working on called Super Show. That appeared to be the first of potential many strategic shifts following the new financial involvement of entertainment company Lionsgate – and the appointment of two-time EA boss John Riccitiello to the board.
