Tesco and Disney join forces to launch Iron Man 3 app

Iron Man 3 may lack the traditional licensed console game, but it has got an app courtesy of Disney… and Tesco.

The Stark Armoury app is described as a new interactive Marvel experience that will have fans and families across the country enjoying a digital treasure hunt through Tesco stores in search of their own Iron Man”.

Users can indulge in plenty of Stark-themed frivolity, such as placing a picture of themselves in the Mark II armour and sharing the hilarity online.

They can them scan codes displayed in-store to unlock further content

Tesco is putting plenty behind Iron man 3, which hits cinemas this week (April 25th). Retail displays are being installed in 400 stores across the UK and Ireland promoting toys, apparel, publishing, games and DVDs.

The Stark Armoury App is a brand new way for our customers to join in the excitement about the movie, and will add an extra bit of fun to the family shopping trip – on-line and in-store,” Tesco’s general merchandise marketing director Matt Entwistle stated.

We’re delighted to be working with Disney in bringing this unique Marvel App to Iron Man fans.”

Marvel International’s VP Nigel Cook added: The Stark Armoury is a fantastic and engaging piece of Marvel content, and forms part of an extensive retail opportunity with Tesco that will run from now through to the DVD release and Christmas.

Iron Man 3 is a key driver this year for the overall Avengers franchise, and the full product range will continue to be supported with TV programming on Disney XD and ITV ahead of the cinema release in November of Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World.”
