Epic Games gives $50,000 to architectural visualisation project and smaller games studios

Three more Unreal Dev Grants issued

The Unreal Dev Grants initiative has awarded funding to three more projects, dishing out a total of $50,000.

The largest grant, funds of $20,000, went to Magic and Mirrors, the three-man studio behind Nelo. This third-person sci-fi action game appears to be in development for PC, and focuses on fast-paced combat. It was demonstrated at Epic Games’ booth at this month’s GDC Expo.

Receiving $15,000 was Consight, a real-time architectural visualisation viewer being developers by three college graduates from Germany’s University of Design. The software is designed to allow users to view and control scenes via an iPad, and the $15,000 will be used to help bring this product to market.

Finally, one-man developer Adrian Lazar receives a grant of $15,000 towards the development of his title Planet Alpha 31.

Epic Games announced its Unreal Dev Grants scheme last month, with a total of $5m in funds up for grabs. Grants range from $5,000 to $50,000 and will be awarded to the most innovative projects being built with Unreal Engine 4.

The first recipients of these grants were announced at GDC.
