Guildford indie Toytek joins UK games trade association

TIGA expands membership

Guildford-based indie studio Toytek has become the latest member of the UK games industry trade association TIGA.

The studio was founded by MD and The Creative Assembly, Climax Studios and EA veteran Georgina Mackenzie in 2008. The firm currently focus on creating titles for the iDevices, with plans to expand into other mobile and web-based platforms in the future.

“As a small independent developer we have very little time to get involved with the bigger issues affecting our industry,” said Mackenzie.

“We joined TIGA as we felt that that these issues were being fought for us by a dedicated team. TIGA’s support for start-ups and independent studios has been first class. Thank you.”

TIGA CEO Richard Wilson was keen to welcome Toytek to the association.

“TIGA is proud to represent small independent start-up studios like Toytek. These studios are at the cutting edge of the development industry and are fuel for the growth of our economy,” he said.

“Toytek is a fantastic example of a highly creative and talented group of people taking advantage of the changes that are occurring in distribution and content in the games industry. We wish them every success.”
