Organisation hopes closer ties to EU will help attract more developers

Turkish trade body joins European Games Developer Federation

TOGED has become the latest video games trade body to join European Games Developer Federation.

The organisation, formally known as the Game Developers Association of Turkey, is the 11th to join the EGDF, which aims to help developers with any difficulties they encounter with different legislation in various European nations.

TOGED will be able to assist the EGDF with establishing uniform video game laws between Turkey and the EU, as well as help Turkish games firms avoid the negative effects of such regulations.

It will also have a voice in future EU legislation concerning video games, and help to raise public awareness about the games industry and opportunities it presents.

The trade body also hopes that EGDF membership will bring more developers to Turkey, as well as give those already established more chances to work with other European games firms.

TOGED launched a new campaign this week, Turkey Loves Indies, to attract more independent studios to the region.
