Ubisoft acquires Future Games of London

Ubisoft has acquired UK free-to-play mobile studio Future Games of London.

The publishing giant will now take on the developer’s 41 employees and its IP, which includes Hungry Shark.

Founded in 2009, Future Games of London has garnered more than 100 million downloads from its range of titles, including four entries in the Hungry Shark series and Pool Bar Online Hustle.

"We are thrilled to join Ubisoft and are looking forward to leveraging its scale, experience and support to expand our brands and maximize the worldwide reach of our very promising forthcoming titles,” said Future Games of London MD Dan Harper.

Ubisoft mobile business MD Jean-Michel Detoc added: "With this deal, we’re biting off an even bigger part of the market for mobile and tablet games.

"Future Games of London brings a popular and profitable franchise to Ubisoft’s portfolio, and supplements our mobile group with a very talented team that has a deep understanding of mobile and free-to-play mechanics."
