Ubisoft designer confident that The Crew launch will deliver

The troubles experienced by Assassin’s Creed: Unity shouldn’t make gamers nervous about next week’s release of The Crew.

That’s according to The Crew’s lead game designer Serkan Hasan told The Metropolist that he has total confidence in the stability of the game and its performance”, adding that the team have what it takes to make [this] a successful launch”.

As well as promising 1080p and 30fps from the off for both the PS4 and Xbox One releases, Hasan also said that the success of the beta has already demonstrated the game’s preparedness for launch.

For The Crew, we’ve reaped the benefits of a long term beta program, designed specifically to push our infrastructure as far as possible in real world situations, with thousands of players from all over the world playing the game at the same time,” he said.

The launch of any online game these days has potential issues but I hope that players will be encouraged by our open approach. If you had any doubts that we could pull this off, I hope that the betas proved our credentials and the game’s stability.”

Regardless of whether you think the internet backlash to Assassin’s Creed: Unity was deserved or merely bloated internet shouting, the effects for Ubisoft have been very real with the publisher withdrawing its Season Pass (admittedly well after the bulk of its sales were likely secured) and giving away a free game.

The Crew is out next Tuesday (December 2nd).
