Ubisoft, Rockstar and Bungie veterans form Zombot Studio

Former employees of major games firms have founded a new studio that is dedicated to triple-A mobile and tablet games.

Named Zombot Studio, the developer’s team has years of experience from Ubisoft, Rockstar, Bungie, Kabam and 2K Games. It was actually founded in 2013 but has only this week publicly announced itself and what it is working on.

The studio’s mission statement is to create "next gen mobile games", the first of which will be Project Galaxy, a title due for release this summer. Very few details have been revealed about the sci-fi title, but you can check out the teaser below. A playable demo will be available at GDC.

CEO Ben Berens said: "You can’t just cram a console game into a mobile device. Creative innovation in design is required to successfully merge the two together. We’ve built a team with the skills and experience necessary to successfully bring a 3D console experience to mobile devices while taking advantage of the unique functions and mechanics of the platform."
