UK CHARTS: Black Ops back at No.1

Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops has returned to the top of the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.

EA’s FIFA 11, which sits in second place this week, had pipped the shooter to the top spot in the last two weeks. In fact, it had looked as if Black Ops’ reign had well and truly passed after the game slipped to No.3 last week.

However, it returns to claim its seventh No.1 this week. It now needs only one more to equal Modern Warfare 2’s eight number one crowns.

Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2 is third ahead of Nintendo’s Wii Fit Plus in fourth and the resurgent Kinect Sports, which climbs five places to No.5 this week.

Sony’s console and PC MMO DC Universe Online manages tenth in its first week of release while EA Sports Active 2’s maintains its New Year re-birth, spurred by some heavy discounting at retail, by slipping just one place to 14th.

Lower down the listings, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed II: Complete Collection, riding on the back of the ongoing success of sequel Brotherhood, re-enters the charts in 37th.

Here’s the UKIE Gfk Chart-Track All Formats Top for the week ending January 15th:

1. Call of Duty : Black Ops (Activision)
2. FIFA 11 (EA)
3. Just Dance 2(Ubisoft)
4. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo)
5. Kinect Sports (Microsoft)
6. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (EA)
7. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (Ubisoft)
8. Gran Turismo 5 (Sony)
9. Fallout: New Vegas (Bethesda)
10. DC Universe Online (SOE)
