UK CHARTS: Sims 3 refuses to budge

After a long period of dominance from Nintendo’s Wii Fit, EA’s PC hit The Sims 3 has stamped its chart credentials on the ELSPA GfK-ChartTrack All Formats Top 40 by claiming top spot for the second week in a row.

It finishes ahead of Activision Blizzard’s debutant Prototype, which enters proceedings in a respectable second spot, nudging THQ’s Red Faction Guerrilla down one place to number three.

It’s also a good week for Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty: World at War thanks to some aggressive High Street price promotions – the shooter jumps from 16th to seventh. Also on the up is Deep Silver’s Jillian Michael’s Fitness Ultimatum, which climbs seven places to 20th.

Elsewhere in the listings EA’s Grand Slam Tennis, the first game to come bundled with (and without) Nintendo new MotionPlus Wii add-on, debuts in 13th position.

Other new entries include LucasArts’ Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (32nd) and Nintendo’s Walk With Me (39th).

A couple of titles also suffer steep falls, with Codemasters’ Fuel dropping 12 places to 24th and Square Enix’s Xbox 360 exclusive Star Ocean: The Last Hope falling nine positions to 27th.

Here’s the ELSPA Gfk-ChartTrack All Formats Top Ten in full (for the week ending June 13th):
