Capcom and FACEIT partner up for Street Fighter V Milan Games Week finals

FACEIT has announced that it has teamed up with the Capcom Pro Tour and Milan Games Week to host Street Fighter V’s EU Regional Finals at the event this weekend.

Taking place on Sunday October 1st, the FACEIT-organised event makes it three years in a row for the cherished fighting series at Milan Games Week. It will be preceded by the Regional Finals Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday September 30th, the winner of which will face off against the seven players who have already qualified over this year’s previous events.

Femi ‘F-Word’ Adeboye and Jonathan ‘Tyrant’ Parkes will assume hosting duties.

The grand winner will secure themselves a place at the Capcom Cup 2017. Those wishing to register for the open qualifier can do so here.

“Over the past two years, the Milan Games Week has proven to be the perfect venue for the Europe’s most skilled Street Fighter V warriors to face off,” FACEIT’s creative director James Bardolph said.

“We’re excited to continue bringing these players together, and we look forward to future Capcom competitions in Street Fighter V and beyond.”

Paolo Chisari, president of co-organiser AESVI, added: “Milan Games Week is proud to host Europe’s most intense Street Fighter V and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite matches at the EU Regional Finals.”

And Pier Luigi Parnofiello, head of esports at Fandango Club spa, had this to say: “The return of the Capcom Pro Tour, along with a huge variety of other events and games will make Milan Games Week 2017 the most exciting yet.”
