Rainbow Six Siege patch nerfs Glaz

Can you hear it? There’s a sound travelling around the internet like thousands of angry Reddit fans being silenced at once.

Rainbow Six Siege’s 2.2.1 patch notes have been released, and Glaz is getting the nerf many have claimed he needs. Glaz’s rebalance is the only operator shuffle to take place during Operation Health, with the team focussing on the stability of the game rather than changes.

From the blog post describing the changes, Ubisoft have said: “note that there’s many more balancing changes on hold right now – we considered this one important enough to push it during Operation Health.”

The changes hit the Russian sniper in a variety of ways, with damage reduction and recoil increase making him less of a Glaz cannon, and a shuffle in which operators given access to smoke grenades is also designed to shake the meta up around him.

The 2.2.1 patch should be launching tomorrow, after it got delayed for a day because the servers had their own health issues to resolve. You can see the full patch notes here, including the hitbox rework, and some slight map tweaks to protect spawn locations that used to be ripe for getting peeked from interior windows.
