Top sellers on Unity’s Asset Store are earning in excess of $30,000 a month, the company has announced.
In a post on the Unity Asset Store blog celebrating the store’s anniversary, the firm revealed various milestones for its marketplace of user-created development assets, tools and services.
The Asset Store brought in 10,000 registered users in the first three months following its public launch in 2010, and just four years later is poised to reach 1m users. The store currently offers more than 15,000 content submissions from around 3,800 creators.
"Unity estimates that the Asset Store ecosystem, empowering Unity developers to create games and apps with a more efficient and effective production process, saves developers 6 million workdays over a 12-month period, which roughly equals a savings of [$1.4bn]," the firm stated.
The company made news last month when it announced former EA executive John Riccitiello would replace Unity co-founder David Helgason as CEO.
