Game engine firm joins Localize Direct, Audio Kinetic, Sold Out and Green Man Gaming to support indies at November 12th event

Unity signs for Interface

Game engine giant Unity is backing next month’s Interface, signing up as a partner for the event.

The company joins Localize Direct, Audio Kinetic, Sold Out and Green Man Gaming who are all lining up to support the indie developers attending Interface, which takes place on Thursday November 12th at St Mary’s Church, near Baker Street, London.

Publishers also attending the event to sign new titles include 505 Games, KISS and Channel 4’s All4Games.

“The games industry has undergone dramatic changes over the past few years, with the proliferation of small studios and multiple ways for games to come to market,” said Andy Brammall, technical sales director at Unity Technologies.

“This has resulted in challenges on both sides of the ‘equation’ for developers and publishers. How can studios get access to funding and how do publishers find the right titles to back amongst a huge variety of available content.

“Unity sees discoverability – both from a publishers’ and developers’ perspective – as one of the major issues facing the industry today. We announced the Made With Unity program at Unite Boston last month and our site at madewith.unity.com is intended to help studios promote their games and to help consumers and investors find new content. Interface is trying to address the same problems by helping bring together publishers and developers in one location and Unity are very happy to support this valuable event.”

Brought to you by MCV and Develop, Interface will take place on Thursday November 12th at St Mary’s Church, near Baker Street and Marylebone Tube/Train stations. The interactive content marketplace, which combines funding advice, private pitching, conference sessions, games showcasing and more, returns after a successful May debut which attracted some 300 games professionals.

Interface is structured to be as affordable as possible for games businesses of all sizes, with the basic indie expo pass free and indie tickets for the meeting system (which guarantees you a day’s schedule of private meetings with publishers looking to sign new games) priced at £59 +VAT. Indie game expo spaces are £199 + VAT and include involvement in the meeting system.

For publishers and larger studios, an expo pass is £20 + VAT, and the meeting system rate is £149 + VAT. Publishers looking to host meetings for the day pay £500 + VAT.

The Interface Meeting System is at the heart of the day, with private meetings between delegates and hosts. NewBay Media take all the details of attendees and hosts and matchmake them, based on requirements and needs. Plus there’s a conference and public expo running throughout the day.

You can book tickets to the event here, and find out more via www.interface.events.
