Unity to demonstrate 3.5 and animation tech at GDC

Unity Technologies is to show version 3.5 of its development platform GDC, the tech outfit has announced.

The middleware company’s booth will show attendees new features added to the tool, whilst selections of in-development tech will be demonstrated, including “a first look at new animation solutions currently in development at Unity Canada”.

“We’re incredibly excited about the release of Unity 3.5 and look forward to showing off all of the huge steps forward we’ve taken in the last year,” said Unity CEO David Helgason.

“We’ve come so very far, yet we constantly strive to improve Unity in ways that make it better for developers from all sectors of the industry. Some of the sneak peeks we’re showing at GDC are sure to blow the development community away.”

As well as Unity 3.5 and animation technology being showcased, Unity’s Developer Day, scheduled to take place on March 6th, will include sessions such as Unity for Artists, Microtranscations: A Love Story and An Introduction to Editor Scripting.

Unity’s partner pavilion will also see demonstrations from companies such as Electrotank, Exit Games and xaitment, whilst studios such as Luma Arcade, Madfinger Games and Smart Bomb will display their games at the booth.

The Game Developers Conference takes place from March 5th in San Francisco, and Develop will be out in force at the event.
