Engine firm will operate from city’s new tech hub CityView

Unity to relocate Brighton office

UPDATE: A member of the team has reached out to Develop and clarified that Unity won’t be moving to its new digs until October.

ORIGINAL STORY:
The UK arm of Unity Technologies has moved to a new location within the coastal city of Brighton.

The firm will now be based in the CityView building, a new hub for tech companies. The Argus, spotted by Pocket Gamer, reports that Unity has secured more than 16,000 square feet of office space and signed a ten-year lease.

All employees from the existing Brighton office will be relocated, and Unity is now hiring for additional staff to fill the extra space at CityView.

Brighton is already established as a thriving hub for games development, with The Chinese Room, Boss Alien, FuturLab, Tammeka Games and more all based in the area. Sadly, long-running local studio Relentless closed last week.

Submissions for the 2016 Unity Awards opened this week. Find out how you can nominate here.
