UPDATE: Retailer outs Batman Arkham Knight

The next instalment in the popular Arkham series has been named.

As spotted by Videogamer via a now removed listing on the GAME website, it’s called Batman: Arkham Knight and is due out on PS4, Xbox One and PC this year. It looks like current-gen and Wii U are out of luck.

The move represents an annualisation of the series following last year’s release of Batman: Arkham Origins.

The cover art reveals some sort of Harley Quinn themed pre-order bonus and appears to show the Batmobile, pointing towards the ability to explore Gotham by road for the first time.

The box also confirms Rocksteady as developer. 2013’s Arkham Origins was the first to be developed by another studio – Warner Montreal.

UPDATE:TheSixthAxis grabbed some quotes from the listing which said the game is an explosive finale to the Arkham series” and will see the Caped Crusader "face the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect – the Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever”.

It also confirms a Rocksteady-designed drivable version of the Batmobile.
