Virgin comes out to Play at GC

Veteran industry label Virgin made a splash at Game Connection this week as it looks to relive the glory days of the nineties.

The Spanish-based company Virgin Play, headed up by industry stalwart Tim Chaney, was out in full force at Lyon Game Connection as it looks to sign up more product and expand into further European territories.

We will be meeting with a large number of developers over the three days and already we have three times as many requests for meetings than we have available meeting slots,” said Virgin Play development manager Mike Merren. That’s a vast amount of potential products to consider.”

With titles including PC RTS Crusaders: The Kingdoms Come and PSP release Super Hind on the schedule for next year, the publisher is also sizing up moves into additional European territories.

We recently opened up a sales operation in Portugal and there will be more European offices going forwards,” pointed out Merren. It’s an exciting time at Virgin Play right now. Just watch this space.”
