Wargaming Mobile acquire Danish studio Hapti.co

Wargaming Mobile, a division of the publisher Wargaming, has announced the acquisition of Danish mobile studio, Hapti.co. The studio will be rebranded as Wargaming Copenhagen and focus on new mobile titles for the World of Tanks developer.

Hapti.co was formely a subsidiary of Hitman developer, IO Interactive, and has former Lionhead and IO Interactive developer Rune Vendler at the helm as studio head. The team will continue to operate on their exisitng mobile titles.

“Joining Wargaming offers us new opportunities and ways to grow,” said Rune Vendler. “We’re really looking forward to getting started on new projects, and leveraging the skill and expertise of an industry giant like Wargaming to bring even more fantastic titles to our players.”

“The guys at Hapti.co were a perfect match for Wargaming’s mobile endeavors,” added head of Wargaming Mobile, Keith Kawahata. “They have the expertise from working in the industry for years, a solid games portfolio that have cemented them in the market, and the ambition and drive to go from strength to strength as Wargaming Copenhagen.”

Wargaming have continued to expand, creating new partnerships with Sega and Creative Assembly, as well as continuing to support World of Tanks on console, PC and mobile, in addition to other combat games World of Warships and World of Warplanes.
