Eternal Crusade – the Warhammer 40,000 title from Behaviour – is finally launching later this year.
This announcement comes by way of Bandai Namco who is picking up publishing duties for the title. The game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Eternal Crusade was originally announced in 2013. Back then, the title was described as a MMO – though that moniker appears to have been dropped. At the time, the game was given a 2015 release date.
Not much was heard about the title after its announcement. That’s until last year when the Behaviour revealed that the game indeed still existed, and was being developed on Unreal Engine 4.
The title allows gamers to play as four factions, and promises ‘the fiercest and most authentic Warhammer 40,000 battles ever realised in a massive online shooter’. It is set for a summer launch.

Eternal Crusade is far from the only game based on the Warhammer licence coming to stores.
Total War developer Creative Assembly is releasing Total War: Warhammer this April. Meanwhile, a MOBA based on the 40,000 licence called Dark Nexus Arena is coming out this year, too. Nomad Games is also releasing a version of its popular Talisman digital board game based on the Horus Heresy (a pretty key event in the Warhammer 40,000 canon).
Focus Home Interactive is also launching two games based on Warhammer 40k spin-offs – Space Hulk: Deathwing and Battlefleet Gothic: Armada.
In addition to those upcoming titles, 2015 also saw a number of Warhammer releases.
Hammerfall released Wahammer 40K: Regicide for PC, iOS and Android, while Rodeo Games released Warhammer 40K: Deathwatch Tyranids Invasion.
That’s on top of Complex Games’ mobile title The Horus Heresy: Drop Assault.
