Watch Dogs and Mario Kart hold onto top chart places

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs has retained its place at the top of the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.

This is in spite of an 81 per cent decline in sales week-on-week – there was an 84 per cent drop in sales of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, while on PS3 and Xbox 360 this decline was 68 per cent.

This is the first time that an Ubisoft title has held onto the No.1 position since 2012’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

Mario Kart holds onto the No.2 spot, but its sales dipped 76 per cent.

Square Enix’s new entry – and this week’s No.3 – Murdered: Soul Suspect came close to outselling Nintendo’s racing game. Only 400 units stood between the two titles.

Minecraft continues to chart highly, too, though both boxed versions dropped two places this week. The PlayStation 3 Edition now sits at No.7, while the Xbox 360 version is at No.10. Minecraft has not been outside of the Top Ten so far this year.

Here are the Top Ten for the week ending June 7th:

1. Watch Dogs (Ubisoft)
2. Mario Kart 8 (Nintendo)
3. Murdered: Soul Suspect (Square Enix)
4. Wolfenstein: The New Order (Bethesda)
5. FIFA 14 (EA)
6. 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil (EA)
7. Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition (Sony)
8. Call of Duty: Ghosts (Activision)
9. Titanfall (EA)
10. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (Microsoft)
