Watch Hello Games’ procedurally generated No Man’s Sky in action

Hello Games revealed its newest project this weekend: a procedurally generated sci-fi game called No Man’s Sky.

The title was debuted at this weekend’s Spike VGX Awards via its first trailer, which you can view below.

No Man’s Sky is an exploration game in which the Joe Danger developer claims "every atom" is procedurally generated – from each planet to the plants found on their surface. Players will be able to explore these worlds, as well as the skies above them, outer space between them and even underwater environments.

Hello Games’ MD Sean Murray said: "It’s a huge game. We wanted to make a game about exploration. And we wanted to make something that was real."

The studio has promised that players will be able to explore any area they can see, including mountains on the distant horizon.

No Man’s Sky will also involve combat mechanics as gamers defend themselves against creatures indiginous to the procedurally generated planets, as well as other players and their spaceships.
