Wii U backs two key MCV Awards for retail

The first Retail Concept prize at the MCV Awards will be sponsored by Nintendo Wii U.

The new category was added this year to reward retailers that have explored new ways to showcase and promote video games.

Nintendo Wii U is also sponsoring the 2013 award for Mainstream Retailer.

This year’s MCV Awards is the perfect opportunity for the games industry to come together and recognise the achievement, hard work and commitment of all of our retail partners during what can only be described as a tough, and often uncertain, time,” said UK and Ireland sales director Andy Yates.

Never have our retail partners needed our support more than in the current climate. In today’s cutthroat market, innovation in terms of showcasing and promoting new and existing releases has never been more vital.

With this in mind, Nintendo is proud to be supporting the inaugural ‘Retail Concept’ category."

Finalists for the MCV Awards 2013 were announced today.

Winners will be named on the night of Thursday, April 18th at the Greg Davies-hosted ceremony at the London Lancaster Hotel. To attend, contact Kathryn.Humphrey@intentmedia.co.uk or call her on 01992 535 646.
