Wii U version of Metro: Last Light is pulled

THQ has confirmed that the Wii U version of Metro: Last Light is no longer in development”.

The game was one of many to appear in Nintendo’s E3 2011 show reel intended to demonstrate the wide third party support for Wii U.

It’s not in development [at the moment],” THQ’s global brand manager Mark Madsen told Digital Spy. As we got along in the development process, we just really wanted to focus on what we knew, focus on PS3, 360 and PC.

"If it does happen, it won’t sim-ship with the other SKUs, but if the opportunity arises we’ll take a look at it. The verdict is out on what we can do to maximise the code for the Wii U, and we’ll see [what happens]."

Yesterday MCV reported that Unreal Engine 4 will not be supported on Wii U – a move that may dent the number of multiformat titles appearing on Nintendo’s machine.
