Intel Developer Blog: Details on the firm's LevelUp Game Contest 2015

Win $5000 and a commercial distribution deal with Steam

With spring just around the corner, what better way to start the new season than with a new Intel competition for developers? Intel’s Level Up Game Contest 2015 kicked off on Sunday and will run until 13 May 2015. The contest offers you the opportunity to enter a demo of a new game you’ve made that takes advantage of touchscreen features and the capabilities of 2 in 1 devices.

Up for grabs are cash prizes of $5000 and $3000 for winners in different awards categories. However, what really separates this competition is the opportunity for you to get industry recognition. All the winners will have their demos posted on the Steam demos page. The winner of the Grand Prize will also get the opportunity to turn their demo into a full game and distribute it commercially through Steam.

There are various categories for prizes including Best Puzzle/Physics Game, Best Platformer Game, Best Adventure/Role Playing and Best “Open Genre” Game. And for those that demonstrate exceptional skills within their game development, there will be awards for art design, sound, 3D graphics, character design and more. Take a look at who’s on the judging panel this year. If you’re considering entering it’s worth checking out the full specs for the competition too.

Need some inspiration? Why not take a look at some of the winners’ games from previous years before you get started on your application? May the best developer win…
