Worldwide Pokemon Go revenue passes $160m, report claims

Niantic’s Pokemon Go has, in less than a month, surpassed $160m in global App Store and Google Play revenue.

That’s according to analytics firm Sensor Tower. This is a number that is set to increase further, too, what with the Chinese and Brazilian rollouts yet to happen.

Furthermore, despite the noise being generated by gamers unhappy at the app’s recent updates, user engagement isn’t declining.

62 per cent of US ratings for the game since the July 30th update have been two or fewer stars, with 51 per cent at one star. In Japan the situation is even worse, where 82 per cent of ratings are negative and 75 per cent just one star.

But despite all this, the average US user is spending even more time with the game each dah, averaging 26 minutes and five seconds. It continues to outpace other leading apps such as Facebook, too.
