Crytek engine powering upcoming action-RPG project

Xaviant licenses CryEngine 3

Georgia-based Xaviant is building a multi-platform title called Lichdom on CryEngine 3.

The move marks the first licensee agreement between the companies. Lichdom will be a single-player Fantasy action-RPG.

Xaviant CEO Michael McMain spoke of his delight with the extent to which the CryEngine 3 exceeded his expectation for a game engine.

“The rapid iteration and the number of tools we get ‘out of the box’ are remarkable. In just six short weeks we were able to create a ‘proof of concept’ demo with an incredibly high level of detail. In my opinion, anyone serious about making a game should check out Cryengine,” he said.

CryEngine’s director of global business development Carl Jones stated his delight about the partnership.

“We designed CryEngine 3 Sandbox to allow the fastest possible prototyping and iteration of game content and we’re looking forward to seeing more from this promising project,” he added.
