XBLAs Desination Arcade delayed

The launch of Microsoft’s Destination Arcade has been delayed until Wednesday, July 21st.

The slip was revealed by the company’s Larry Hyrb on his Major Nelson blog, and will see the revamped interface mark the start of the latest Xbox Live promotion.

Announced last week, Destination Arcade is a new browser designed to make it easier for 360 owners to search through arcade games.

I wanted to let you know that the Destination Arcade release date has been moved to next Wednesday to kick off the launch of Summer of Arcade,” said Hyrb.

Destination Arcade will only be available in the US. If I learn of any plans for other regions, I’ll be sure to let you know.

I have also learned that the Destination Arcade app will only be available during the Summer of Arcade promotion, which ends August 18th.”

Summer of Arcade will highlight key weekly releases, including Castlevania: Harmony of Despair and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.
