XBOX: Four player co-op primed for Assassin’s Creed: Unity

The first ever gameplay demonstration of Assassin’s Creed: Unity has been shown off at Microsoft’s E3 2014 presentation.

Boasting huge numbers of NPCs and some expansive environments, the game looks to up the scale seen in previous entries – even if on face value it appears to rigidly stick to the established template.

What is new is four-player co-op, which is a first for the series. The E3 crowd were shown a mission being tackled by four pals simultaneously, who were storming a mansion amidst scenes of a social rebellion.

Indeed, the undercurrent of social tension appears to be a key driver for the narrative, with players taking on an aristocratic family as mobs attempted to storm the property.

One of the gentry was subsequently hurled to the masses, who took no mercy, beheading him and his acquaintances.
