Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox One was the best-selling console in the US, UK and Australia last month.
This is the fourth month in a row that Xbox One has topped the US NPD sales list – an achievement that until recently seemed impossible thanks to PS4’s ongoing and undisrupted dominance.
Microsoft’s machine has also topped the UK and Australian charts for two consecutive months.
Sony will be hoping that the arrival of the PS4 Pro this week will reverse the tide. Should this happen this would explain why to date the PS4 Slim has failed to match the sales of Microsoft’s slimmed down Xbox One S.
Thanks to the passion of Xbox fans worldwide and their continued excitement for Xbox One S, Xbox One was once again the best-selling console in October in the US, UK and Australia according to NPD Group and GfK Entertainment,” US Xbox marketing boss Mike Nichols said.
Xbox One has been the best-selling console in the US for the past four months, and in the UK and Australia in each of the last two months. We are grateful to our community for their continued support and look forward to a great holiday season.”
PS4 remains the clear overall sales leader in all major markets.
New @npdgroup data shows @Xbox One best selling US console 4th month in a row. Thanks for also making us #1 console in UK & Australia!
