Xbox One X is Microsoft’s fastest-selling Xbox pre-order

The Xbox One X has become the fastest selling Xbox pre-order in Microsoft’s history, according to the platform holder. Pre-orders opened on Sunday August 20th just before Gamescom, and the Project Scorpio launch edition of the console is already sold out in several territories, says Microsoft.

Another round of pre-orders for the standard edition of the Xbox One X will be made available next month, but Microsoft has yet to announce details of precisely when these will appear.

The Xbox One X launches on November 7th. Over 100 games will support the console at launch, but its all-important exclusive Crackdown 3 will be missing the launch window after it was delayed until Spring 2018.

Guy Lister, GAME’s retail COO said: Our customers have been eagerly awaiting Xbox One X since the announce of Project Scorpio. This excitement has translated into the demand of pre-orders for the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition. We’re excited to see our loyal community of gamers get hands on with the console and to see everything that the most powerful console has to offer."

Bob Puzon, senior vice president of merchandising for GameStop added:Microsoft has done it again! The innovation and power behind the new Xbox One X console is driving excitement and demand among our customers worldwide.

The speed at which we sold through our initial pre-order supply surpassed expectations, and what we experienced with pre-orders for the original Xbox One console. This new system is definitely going to change how video games are played.”
